Description

Challenge your mind! This class will ask students to get their brains going as they learn complex combinations with rhythm changes and weight shifts at varying speeds.

Objectives:
  1. Master Isolation of Sounds: Perfect the ability to isolate and control tap sounds with precision (Anchor Standard 5: Develop and refine artistic techniques and work for presentation).
  2. Learn Complex Combinations of Rhythms and Sounds: Develop advanced tap choreography involving complex rhythms and rapid changes (Anchor Standard 7: Perceive and analyze artistic work).
  3. Choreographic Complexity: Challenge students with intricate choreographies that involve rapid rhythm changes and precise weight shifts

Jazmyne Stickles

Jazmyne Stickles is beyond excited to be teaching at CYT Dallas this year! She started her dance journey 12 years ago in a jazz class. She quickly realized she couldn't live without it. Ever since then, she trained with an award-winning studio KJ Dance, Joffrey School of Ballet, and Zion Dance Project. She trained intensely in many genres of dance including, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, and more. Jazmyne grew up in a competition studio traveling all over the U.S. competing. She has a deep passion for teaching and dancing, and loves to share the joy of dance with everyone! Jazmyne is currently dancing with Zion Dance Project in their Second Company Zion II.
